This whole report gives every faction something to kill themselves over. Personally the CTC being underwater like this is a big disappointment. I do think that issue polling is notoriously fickle and should be taken with a grain of salt however.
Cynically I can’t help but feel that the centrist faction (with whom this report is aligned) will just say that their unpopular stuff will just have to be done quietly while the progs will just have to shove it.

Honestly issue polling is kind of stupid. What matters is not whether an issue is popular, but whether it will cause people to change their votes. I would posit that mass upzoning makes people kinda shrug and not really care, unlike spot upzonings which feel “unfair” to many

I think the issue is with the word ‘multifamily’.
Having a free standing house is part of North American culture, and is a deeply held normative value.

How are abolish the police and abolish prison democratic policies? This kind of media implies that the democrats actually want to do these things, which is evidently not true.

Where is this taken from? These “unpopular democratic policies”, especially the more unpopular ones, aren’t actual democratic policies. Democrats were vocally speaking out against things like abolishing the police and providing free healthcare to undocumented immigrants. This seems like a list compiled by somebody who is pushing an agenda, not somebody looking to accurately assess democratic policies.

SFH ownership is so ingrained as a goal in the minds of Americans that I think anything involving an increase in MFH development will be viewed negatively, even amongst people who would probably benefit from it (temporarily embarassed millionaires except for SFH ownership)
It doesn’t help that most new apartment builds in this country have poor building quality. The main reason I always hear cited for wanting to move out of an apartment is noise from neighbors
These folks made up policies that dems do not hold. There are zero elected democrats that are actively campaigning on “abolishing the police” and other nonsense. To ascribe such wildly dumb policies as “dem policy” is fucking dumb.

Also just because it’s not popular doesn’t mean it’s not some hong you do. People aren’t gonna vote against the GOP for their unpopular stuff so you can afford to do some good even if it isn’t plus 10 percent

“Legalize the construction of multi family housing,” might fare differently.
