To a meaningful extent, wealth inequality is correlated with wealth itself. More wealth more inequality. Not *always* but often… and for housing, that is the case.
There are not many options for reducing inequality without destroying wealth. If the value of land/housing drops to half, inequality will be much reduced.
I dont say this to mean that wealth must be destroyed or that inequality must be tolerated. I say this to clarify interest groups, and also real economic tradeoffs.
