Ukraine’s budget deficit could rise to $53 billion by 2028 amid mounting defense and reconstruction costs in the face of Russia’s ongoing war, a report has found.
This week’s KSE report projected that Ukraine’s budget deficit could reach $42 billion already this year.
It said Ukraine is in “urgent” need of additional financing from international partners, including a new program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and billions in proposed loans from the EU and other G7 allies.
