Hi everyone, I was reflecting on U.S.–China relations after Trump's visit.
Washington’s trying to contain Beijing with export bans and new alliances, while China doubles down on investments and national pride. It’s reminding me of the Peloponnesian War.
I'm a cartoonist, so I made this cartoon, comparing the two historic moments. Hopefully we’ve learned something since Athens and Sparta… but I’m not sure markets or egos make great diplomats.
Curious what you think…

trump currently is doing the Melian dialouge en masse
I thought this was a bone hurting juice at first. But this actually might make a pretty good origami.
Is this an argument that the Peloponnesian War was avoidable and ultimately detrimental for both parties or something? Because it kind of wasn’t, Sparta benefited but their later demise was their own making and mostly separate.
