Rule 10 Submission Statement: I don't know if I'm losing it or if I slipped through a portal to an alternate timeline or what…but the Republicans have traditionally defended the filibuster, no?

I would have sworn that, out of the two parties, if one wanted to terminate the filibuster, it would be the Democrats; as they have advocated for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico's statehood, but the filibuster has been a major obstacle getting in their way of achieving it.

    1. What in the past 10 months makes you think he doesn’t want anything that impedes him from complete power destroyed? This was always the plan. Senate and House Republicans to their credit seem to be against it, but given their history with Trump I’m not convinced it will hold out. We’ll see.

I think it comes to planning for the future. House and Senate Republicans are of the mind that they will have to compete in their own elections, and that losing power is a very real possibility. The Trump administration is banking on not having any more elections.

    2. MAGA will do anything to keep people from voting. Fuck that no mail-in ballot shit. Every state should allow mail in ballots.
