It probably won’t. France is unlikely to engage in any major military action unless it is directly attacked, which doesn’t seem probable. Anything else would be too unpopular, so politicians won’t do it.

WWII saw the entire pre-war population of San Diego, CA dying each and every week for 6 years.
If we have another “big war” we won’t be mentally ready for 1/100 of that level of death in the West
