Myanmar, Columbia, and Afghanistan lead the world in exporting of illicit narcotics. Venezuela isn't even a top ten nation. More over the U.S. already occupied Afghanistan for 20yrs and the flow of narcotics didn't slow.

Venezuela has one of the largest oil reserves on the entire planet.. that answers your question.
Venezuela did not vote in the Trump/Putin puppet so Trump is going in for the oil.
