Target is be net-zero and the government figured out a way. Ban everything and import all energy needs from foreign countries. If there is any pushback fund internet influencers and eco-terrorists to silence dissent using the taxpayer money.
And by the way there is zero interest in energy conservation, power management or resource utilization, it’s all a big fat lie.

Yes, I know VAT is being removed from domestic energy bills in the next few years, but it will just be replaced with some other levy or charge.
