This is Congress we’re talking about.
IMO Congress should no longer be able to control their salaries, pensions, or bonuses of any kind. Instead that should come to a vote of the people each election cycle.
Example ballot questions:
“Should RepSenator <Name Here>, receive an 8% raise in salary? Vote yes or no.”
“Should term limits be imposed on the United States Federal Legislative Congress, with a proposed limit of no more than 3 terms in the House and 2 terms in the Senate? Vote yes or no.”
