Cities from ultra-liberal Portland, spending billions on this problem, to Conservative Florida cities with more right-leaning measures, nobody has been able to find a solution to this.
It’s difficult to admit that a lot of these people either have severe schizophrenia, or their minds have been destroyed by the Fentanyl/Xylazine combination. And it is not simply a matter of them being ‘temporarily down on their luck.
There are homeless people like that, living in their cars, with jobs. But those are not the ones that you will encounter on the streets.
It is RIDICULOUS the people we elect in this country. Someone with a position of “nobody ever ACTUALLY tried to fix this before” in reference to a problem that countless people have spent countless hours and countless dollars over countless years trying to fix has no business being mayor of anything.
