Submission Statement: There’s been a lot of talk regarding Dem momentum and what it could mean for the country and the future of democracy.

This is one result of many, and not a huge one in isolation. However, the historic significance of not having won this since Clinton was preparing for reelection is noteworthy, along with the groups the Dem vote surged with, particularly Hispanics, and their importance to a Dem victory.

If races like this can be won now, potentially the conversation is opened up to suggesting Florida isn’t a completely lost cause, and that GOP voting Hispanic pockets in Florida may be more open to the Dems than they’ve been for a very long time.
