Georgia Democrat Eric Gisler flips a state House seat in district Trump won by double digits

    While only winning by less than 200 votes, it is a 15 pt overperformance vs 2024. This is a gerrymandered district of a blue county (Clarke) and a red but affluent neighboring county (Oconee). Oconee should be a good bellwether for how moderate areas of Georgia could perform next year. Note that the other Georgia special election today, even though it goes to runoff, was still 75% voting for Republicans and nowhere close to competitive.

    To be fair Dutch Guest IV just sounds like one of those randomly generated Reddit names. The Dem didn’t win because he was running against a Republican, people thought he was running against a Redditor.
