You have to feel sympathy for the parents because it looks to me like the cops and investigators terminally fucked up the investigation into their daughter’s death. They’ll never get closure. The woman died in 2011. Shapiro’s office was given the case to review in 2017 — 6 years later. Given the limited evidence available, it isn’t shocking that the investigation went nowhere. I understand why the parents are angry at Shapiro and have unkind things to say. For the rest of us though, so what. One case that was fucked up 6 years before his office even got involved — what’s he really going to be able to do with that, especially when you consider the case load and budget available.
