“The Trump administration is preparing to crack down on student loan defaulters starting next year. This will be interesting because you can bet Democrats are going to flip out about this. The Education Department confirmed it will begin withholding wages from borrowers who fail to pay their debts.”
“The first wave hits in early January. About 1,000 individuals who defaulted on their student loans will see wage garnishments begin the week of Jan. 7, 2026”
Good. You signed up for this.
“But I was young and dumb!”
You were old enough to sign a contract. If folks want to change the age of majority, that’s a separate matter. If you felt your school did you wrong “letting” you go $100k in debt for a gender studies degree that has zero career opportunities outside of academia, sue the school. Don’t expect my tax dollars to bail you out.
And I hope you make assistant to the assistant shift manger at the Target Starbucks. Which by the way offers a free undergraduate college degree via Arizona State University online. Get a useful degree so you might pay off your debt. Note I said **your** debt.
And if you support medically transing kids while screaming you were too young, please lookup the word “irony”.

Yeah, probably too dumb to vote, too.

I paid off $125k in student loans in 5 years after graduating by basically living at bare minimum expenses and dumping everything else into those loans. I have absolutely no sympathy for those trying to avoid their obligations to the detriment of the tax payer.
I was young and dumb when I started college. No financial literacy, single parent household, first person to go to college. Despite that, I didn’t touch a loan until I had a clear plan to pay it back. It is astounding to me when people claim that adults going to college were somehow incapable of understanding how loans work.
