It’s imperialism at its finest

  1. Not imperialism. The U.S. has no plans to occupy Venezuela, unlike Iraq and Afghanistan. The reason those wars went on so long was because we had the hubris to attempt to remake those countries in our own image and failed.

Maduro was illegitimately elected in one of the most blatant coups. He kicked out all the watchdog groups except the literal Communist ones like Alliance for Global Justice and DSA. He simply announced the final totals, declared himself the winner, and that was it.

7 million people have fled from Venezuela and many of them are inside the USA. And now they can return.

This is one of the rare military interventions that actually reverses entropy instead of accelerating it. A successor government is already prepared to assume power. There is no plan to occupy or reconstruct the country, we leave.

Now the U.S. can begin sending all the Venezuelan immigrants back to their home country because they don’t need to be refugees anymore.
