Basically the Justice Department has removed almost all references to the Cartel de los Soles, a group designated by Trump’s administration as a terrorist organization that supposedly had Maduro as the lead, in their new indictment against the venezuelan president.
According to experts, the Cartel de los Soles was never actually a real thing and it was, instead, just a term made up in the 1990s by venezuelan media to refer to government officials involved in drug trafficking and it predates Hugo Chávez even taking power in Venezuela.
