    The article suggests that even if her winning the nobel peace prize instead of trump didn’t happen, she wouldn’t have had much chance of getting to power. Reportedly she was unwilling to meet in person with Trump’s envoy, refused to list which political prisoners should be released, and refused to elaborate on how her or gonzalez would takenpower.

    Her refusal to meet with anyone from maduros government gave her zero voice or pull in the chavista dominated government, making her a poor choice for transition. Her support for sanctions destroyed her relationship with the remaining business elites and civil society groups

    Ah the old “Trump the behind the scenes genius” take again. This is refuted by other reporting that it was because she won the nobel and he didnt. Which is more consistent with his public behavior?
