America’s institutions do not deserve the public’s faith, such as they are.

The federal statute of limitations is five years for most crimes, so there’s that

They won’t.

Elections have consequences. Maybe the next democratic administration will take things seriously instead of worrying about appearing to be overly partisan according to the standards of 100 years ago.

Not to be pedantic but it would be more accurate to put “justice” in quotes. And there is no statute of limitations on murder. This trigger happy agent would do far better to push for an investigation and get “cleared” by a more sympathetic judge/jury or pardoned by Trump. The longer it takes for justice to be served with at least a genuine investigation, the worse it may go when it happens and if it never happens because justice is whatever someone with a gun and a mob behind them say it is, that won’t go well at all.

It literally does not matter if you murder someone on live video and then that video is seen by hundreds of millions of people. If the MAGA “alternative facts” propaganda machine believes the murder is even remotely in the service of their right wing authoritarian goals (which the murder of a random lesbian absolutely is) then they will ensure that there is just enough popular support for doing absolutely nothing

Stooges will be prosecuted. They have only postponed the righteous judgement for their wickedness.

There must be in-groups for whom the law protects but does not bind along side out-groups for whom the law binds but does not protect.
