130 Far-right rioters who supported Yoon’s martial law stormed Seoul Western District court to protest his arrest on January 19th, 2025. They smashed everything inside court building while waving Trump/Musk/US flags. Few weeks ago, court issued a white paper on the violence, officially designating as a riot. The rioters were sentenced to 3 ~ 5 years in jail.

P.S. Unlike December 3rd Insurrection, this incident barely touched upon by Korean mainstream media despite today being the anniversary.
This incident is more mysterious than Dec 3rd martial law. Unlike December 3rd, police failed to pinpoint the organizer. The police reports indicated that the rioters were quite fragmented, disorganized and atomized, separating most Korean protests which have identified representatives and organizations which police can negotiate with to maintain peace. These rioters lack any of those traditional Korean protest culture and mirrored American-style urban riots. Some of arrested rioters proclaimed themselves to be “CIA agents”…but police didn’t carry further investigation into those claims.
