The poll asks: should Democrats pursue the abolition of ICE as a matter of policy, and should the Democrats champion abolishing ICE as a slogan? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Yes. But I’d prefer to just DOGE it out of existence overnight. “Abolish” ties it too closely to post-George Floyd politics.

100% yes. There can be no middle ground or compromise on this issue. The entire agency is compromised. Anyone still working for them deserves to be shit canned.

We can create a new immigration enforcement agency in its wake. But fuck everything about what ICE is right now. Tear it down.

“I don’t want to abolish ~~government~~ *ICE*. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.”

I just wanted to let you know that, sincerely, I needed the laugh that the “Jill Stein” option brought me

I can understand maybe saying no to messaging but anything less than an 100% yes on policy is embarrassing

  6. Dawg, this sub was abolish ice when it was under Obama. Today, abolish ice is the compromise, prosecuting them is the liberal position.

It’s an irredeemable institution. He needs a clean house from top to bottom, in the most feasible way to do that is simply starting over fresh.

  8. mods should find some way to perma those who voted “no to policy yes to messaging” or “no to both”

  9. No. Now is not the time for divisive slogans like this. Capitalize on the situation without own goaling like last time. Personally, I agree 100% and every thug involved should be left to rot in a dark cell, but politically no

There is simply too much at stake to risk on a slogan

I think that it depends on who is running the slogan and how willing and capable they are of defending it. Without pulling up polling from 2020, opinion against law enforcement was negative, but “defund the police” didn’t really garner strong, broad support. ICE does not have a positive, broad image that they’ve fallen from though so there is room for “abolish” sloganeering, for candidates willing to duke it out for that position. Wishy washy Dems shouldn’t even try tbh

  11. Every ice agent should be fired, based liberals hired and used the same way against enemies of the state (maga). Then abolished once the job is done.
