Submission Statement: This could really f**k Cuba. They already lost a major source of energy when the U.S. prohibited Caracas from exporting any more energy to Cuba. Mexico increased its energy exports to Cuba last year, and while it wasn’t nearly enough to offset the loss of Venezuelan oil, it has still been a crucial lifeline for Havana. Now, due to pressure from the Trump administration, President Sheinbaum is considering ending all Mexican energy exports to Cuba.

This comes amid growing fear in Mexico that President Trump might take unilateral military action against cartels operating in the country, as well as concern over the fact that US Navy MQ-4C Triton drones are conducting flights over the sea route Mexico uses to ship energy to Cuba. This also comes as the Wall Street Journal reports that the Trump Administration is looking to complete regime change in Cuba by the end of the year. Experts are warning of a total collapse of the Cuban energy grid within a few weeks due to lack of fuel supplies.

  1. Man, the USA bombing a Mexican ship would be such a diplomatic clusterfuck I cannot blame them for trying to prevent that from even being a possibility.

I don’t doubt that the Trump admin will depose the cuban government by the end of the year but at what cost to the cuban people? and will what come after even be better? Trump clearly doesn’t care about dictators as long as they are friendly to him

  3. The only foreign Tanker coming to Cuba was on January 9, from Mexico. About 90,000 barrels for a demand of 3 million monthly

Cuba needs foreign Oil to maintain their Economy going. Without it:

    >80% of their Electricity goes down

    >Food refrigeration failure

    >Fuel for transport is not enough

    >Fuel for Production gets hard to find

    >Water pumps usually rely on electric or oil

    >Turism becomes much harder

    >Schools can’t open

    >Internet starts to go down

If this new Cuba policy remains on place for a couple of months, I don’t think the island will be livable anymore

I was sceptic at first, but I think Marco Rubio might be planning to make a move on Cuba pretty soon
