Submission statement: General Zhang Youxia has been accused of giving nuclear secrets to the U.S.
This is quite the accusation, no? When was the last time such a high-ranking official was accused of leaking such sensitive information to the U.S.?

That’s a pretty wild accusation and is not something I think they would throw out publicly unless there is truth to it.

> But the people familiar with the briefing—which hasn’t been reported until now—said Zhang is under investigation for allegedly forming political cliques, a phrase describing efforts to build networks of influence that undermine party unity, and abusing his authority within the Communist Party’s top military decision-making body, known as the Central Military Commission.
^ This is almost certainly why he’s being purged. The nuclear secrets thing is more likely than not a pretext.
