Submission statement: previous posts missed this Atlantic-exclusive reporting that Bovino has been demoted and his expected to retire. This is the most substantial evidence so far of the Trump admin backing down after the deaths of Good and Pretti, especially when considering reporting on Trump's conversation with Walz and his dissatisfaction with Noem and Bovino.

  1. Some republicans are now saying we need to cool the temperature. They must be realizing that escalating political violence will not end well for them. It’s only a matter of time before democrats decide to elect their vengeance if this continues.

  2. If this is true, this is a big win. This dude is scum. I’m sure the next guy won’t be great but even the appearance that you could lose your job if you embarrass Trump by being too reckless counts for something.

  3. Minnesota needs to declare victory as loudly as possible. Can’t let them pretend like they were gonna do this all along.

Jobs not done until Miller is out

  5. He made the unforgivable mistake of making Trump look bad by doing exactly what was asked of him.

  6. To people lamenting that he wasn’t truly fired, just demoted: this is probably as good as firing. It’s like going from COO to assistant to the regional manager. It’s shameful and a clear message he’s in the doghouse.

His moment in the public consciousness was brief. If he’s remembered at all it will be for terrorizing Americans and fostering a toxic culture that treated (supposed) law enforcement in an American city like subduing an insurgency.
