Since there's been a lot of discussion recently about the trans backlash & how to tackle it, I think it is a good moment to share this data & shed light into the fact that while this backlash is global, in many countries there the Culture War has been less intense the current situation in this regard isn't as dire as it is in the US & TERF Island.
Oh, & I've ended up including the entirety of the IPSOS LGBT+ PRIDE REPORT 2025, not just the questions that are trans-related, but I've put the ones that are trans-related first.
The document: https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2025-06/ipsos-pride-report-2025.pdf
As a gay Spaniard I'm quite relieved by this data: the backlash has made opposition to LGTB+ rights grow substantially here, yes, but we still seem to be the world's second most LGTB+-friendly country after Thailand.
Don't get the wrong idea, homophobia & transphobia are extremely present here as well:
The homophobic slur "maricón" is much more widespread here than "faggot" in the US; this because straight men constantly call each other "maricón/maricones" in the same way straight men constantly call each other "pussy/pussies" in the US; as a gay guy this makes me tremendously uncomfortable & I wish they would stop, but they don't see why this is offensive 🤦
Also, while very very few people (less than 10% of the population) here believe that gay sex is sinful or inherently morally wrong in any way, massively offensive prejudices & stereotypes about LGTB+ people are completely widespread here, particularly about us gay men, especially for those who visibly lean femme & can't pass as straight/"normal", who are talked about in extremely denigrating ways on the regular & are very offen object of mock & ridicule… they still have it quite rough nowadays even here in such a gay-friendly country, I'm thankful I'm masc enough to pass as straight (to the eyes of straight men, who legit have awful gaydars; for people with decent gaydars is beyond obvious that I'm into dudes lol), even once they learn I'm gay they seem me as "one of the good ones", while those who are too femme to pass rarely are given the chance to prove they aren't the extremely derogatory homophobic stereotypes that so widespread are here.
& regarding trans people: "transexual" remains by far the most employed to refer to trans people & the one that is universally employed by the press, why barely anyone says "transgénero"; there's so little trans visibility that I'm 100% sure the percentage of people here who are aware of the existence of trans men must be waaay lower that in the US & TERF Island; I've heard so many times people who are supportive of trans rights, even Gen Z'ers who are supportive of trans rights, say stuff "I support the rights of the men who feel like women!" which is like 🤦🤦🤦 but yeah, at the same time, while the Culture War is also present here, it's present to a much lesser extent than in the Anglosphere, so way less people have been brainwashed into becoming outright bigots.

I couldn’t include these three, so here they are:

Thailand be an island for lgbt acceptance in a sea of SEA opposition is always a little surprising. Good for them
I’m gonna be honest until i saw some of these charts I used to roll my eyes at the “thailand so progressive” claim because it sounded to me like one of those “did you know ancient greece was gay” stories where objectification and exploitation are confused for tolerance and freedom.
Its nice to be wrong about that.
Im wondering if you’ve got any data on India
