He lost out on the Financial Times to Nikkei and years ago and had always wanted a major English outlet, but $766M for Telegraph is quite a bit of an overpay given slow subscription growth. But beating out Daily Mail is kind of funny
They are cash flush after the KKR deal, so expect them consolidate even more non-conglomerate owned outlets
