The EU and its censorship policies are trying to force US based social media companies to follow its rules and broad definitions of illegal content.
From the article: “The [European Union’s Digital Services] commission is able to set the rules for content moderation, set up the infrastructure, launch investigations, and issue penalties under the DSA, all with no meaningful oversight. If this is allowed to stand, the EU will have the unchallenged ability to police the global public square, with dire consequences for online free speech.”
The EU cannot be allowed to set the standard for free speech. For X, this is a hill worth dying on.

How far away from banning VPN’s is the EU?
I see the EU sending armed police authorized with deadly force to hunt down people logging on and using X with a VPN to get around EU censorship rules. Because the EU wants to protect everyone.
