Relevance to NL: This broader war in the Middle East has been brewing for close to a week now. Neighboring Gulf States have already issued pleas for de-escalation as time proceeds. Here, Lindsay Graham seems to be egging the House of Saud to get involved. On paper, the House of Saud and Iran have had bad-blood. Saudi Arabia was involved in a proxy war against Iranian Proxies in Yemen. However, Saudi Arabia is still hesitant to take a firm stance because of their rather high population of Shias. It is a similar story with Bahrain too.

  2. I can’t imagine why Saudi Arabia would be reluctant to join a war pointless that could crash the economy started by the two most hated countries among its civilian population

As long as Iran is throwing missiles and drones at everyone within range, Saudi can handle their share. If Iran focuses more on them, they might have more trouble protecting their refineries etc.
