  1. This is an interesting article. I have been preaching on this site about illegal immigrant farm labor being human exploitation. What i didn’t know was that the government itself was facilitating paying immigrants less than minimum wage via a specific class of visa. That is absolutely insane. Using labor to hand pick or hand weed crops is only viable because its cheaper than other options. If this below minimum wage labor is eliminated, it will spark mechanical innovation. Companies will create mechanical ways to do it, which will be way more efficient. Human exploitation happens because there is profit to be made off it, plain and simple.

The purpose of using trafficked humans for labor is partly to save money *on wages* but also to save money ***on practices.***

Legal employees need restrooms and they need restroom breaks, illegal employees can just be told to go in the field where they work. This is detrimental to the health of the employees ***and everyone who eats that salad*** but if companies can get away with it then it becomes the industry standard.

Countless cheaper practices add up to a cheaper business, and if you’re following the laws then you can’t use any of the cheaper practices. ***People who are afraid to talk to the police won’t bust your unethical practices,*** which keeps all the slave drivers glued to illegal immigration like kids glued to screens.
