Russian oil prices soar, but tanker costs eat a lot of the gains

Submission statement: Russia sold recently oil tanker deliveries for about 19 million dollars more per tanker, but 5-8 million from that were eaten by higher tanker costs since February

given that the tanker shortage doesnt seem to end at all, and with tankers getting hit in the Hormuz or possibly by Ukraine in coming months, squeezing the tanker supply is one way to eat into Russia’s additional revenues

gotta love free markets, due to the shortage, oil price must rise, but nothing says who has to get the additional price and revenue
