Submission Statement: While the current protests in Havana are quite small in comparison to the 2021 protests, this arson represents an honest-to-God dissident attack on a Cuban regime already severely destabilized by the loss of Venezuelan oil and American diplomatic pressure, and signals that the protest movement which has been developing in Havana over the past week is growing bolder. The Díaz-Canel government has never been this unstable, and a change in leadership, whether from resignation, revolution, or invasion, only appears more and more likely.
