    >A proposed bill is making its way through Albany that aims to reduce light pollution and energy waste.

Waste is when people other than me make use of something.

Article pretends writing something on paper is the same as making it happen in reality, *of course they do they’re a writer.* Fifty million noncompliant lights are going to swap out for compliant ones because I said so.

    >many residents have expressed frustration with excessive “light trespass”—that annoying neighbor with a floodlight that shines directly into your bedroom window.

Yes I have that neighbor, he put up a security light because his unwelcome grandson kept trying to break in and was starting drugfires in the back yard. Instead of making a legal case I installed blackout curtains for approximately 0.01% the price and 10000x the problem-solving speed. The curtains also allow me to sleep in if I want, sun just goes straight through the blinds like they’re not there.

For people who have never been in a courtroom before: you can sue, you can win, and you can sit on your pile of words (plus nothing) while your lawyer bills the shit out of you. Your lawyer or your school advocate will tell you to give them more billable hours.

If a bad person is threatening you with a lawyer, ask for the lawyer’s business card so you can log billable 0.1hr ten times calling to ask if they represent that client, if their client has a complaint against you, the nature of the complaint etc etc etc.

Also, what cops are going to enforce this? The ones who can’t keep up with death and SA because there’s not enough of them, the ones being thrown out by neoleft politics?
