9% of ACA health-care plan enrollees go uninsured after enhanced subsidies expire, poll finds

Roughly 2 million Americans, or 9% of enrollees, are estimated to have gone uninsured since enhanced ACA subsidies expired last year. A further 17% are considering the same choice in future because of rising premiums

  2. This is one of those things that the majority of people who get health insurance through their work think won’t affect them, but it will.

    Those choosing to go uninsured are likely mostly healthy net contributors. The risk pool will be made worse by their absence, so everyone’s insurance will get more expensive.
