Canada’s New Democratic Party has chosen Avi Lewis as leader after its electoral collapse, reports The New York Times. The party was squeezed as centre-left voters rallied behind Prime Minister Mark Carney during last year’s election, leaving the NDP with only a handful of seats. Lewis now seeks to rebuild the party around affordability and environmentalism while reclaiming working-class voters drifting to conservatives. Analysts say the party faces an identity crisis after past policy wins benefited the Liberals politically. Whether the NDP can recover from its worst defeat in decades remains uncertain.

Not anytime soon. The NDP is a deeply unserious party at the moment. They are stuck with mid 2010s annoying woke politics and take it to a crazy level. Go to their in person events they will only let white men talk once all marginalized people have gotten to go first. Idk if this has changed but I saw this in person last election. The entire event had a terrible vibe. They also had all white men stand at the back. This sort of stuff is present all over the party. They don’t want to win people over they want to preach at people. The Liberals and Conservatives held feel good events while the NDP yelled at you lol.
I don’t really think Canadians care that much about Palestine since we aren’t a global power we can’t do much. It was a pretty big part of the NDP brand last election.
At the provincial level the NDP does better especially right now in Manitoba but last election in BC they almost lost. I don’t live there but from what I understand people are starting to get annoyed with how the NDP handled homelessness. There’s also stuff going on with Indigenous land claims and people’s homes being caught up in the middle of it. I don’t understand this very well but they apparently passed something years ago and through that these claims are being made. So now they are going back and repealing some of it. Again on this last part I understand very little I could he wrong.
Overall they suffer with what the conservatives suffer with but it’s much worse for them. The NDP copy and paste any American activist shit they can find. They don’t meet Canadians where they are at. They take almost all their political ideas from America. At least the Conservatives don’t go full Republican. They are trying to talk to Canadians.

Is Avi Lewis Anti Nuclear?
If so that’s a HUGE red flag, besides the other countless red flags he already has
