Israel completely withdrew from S Lebanon in 2000, and got 25+ years of rockets and terror in return. No one should seriously question the holding of territory in order to stop attacks. And, if Israel wasn’t involved, no one would question it.
Israel made a huge mistake in withdrawing to begin with, and in abandoning its allies in the SLA (Ehud Barak’s fault).
