That was literally one of the main points of this war besides the oil/strait. It was to set Iran back decades if not entirely erase their ability to build nukes and threaten the world with them (and because of their holy war, actually use them).

So long as their theocratic regime remains in place, the nuclear threat will. We definitely set them back, but I feel like 20 years from now those very same conversations will be taking place. I hope I’m wrong, but to me this seems like (if they agree to this deal) we’ve only accomplished half of the mission.
You also have to realize that the funding of terror proxies won’t stop if the regime is allowed to remain.
