So, essentially buying NPR without the paperwork. They’ll just do their bidding per usual.
NPR is a drug to placate the base, lest they stumble upon the truth via other mediums. Pravda, basically.
That level of control is easily worth $80 million to a person stupid enough to believe the party won’t confiscate his wealth if it gets what it ultimately wants.
The FCC needs to end the practice of giving non commercial stations a pass on paying regulatory fees. Each year commercial radio and TV stations must pay the FCC a fee. This fee covers the cost of the FCC regulating the station. Non commercial stations like most NPR stations are non commercial and get a free ride on the back of commercial radio stations. The FCC needs to end this free ride.
