Trump doesn’t want to extend Iran cease-fire — and sends firm warning to Islamic Republic: ‘I expect to be bombing’

What are we trying to achieve here? 

If the goal is to take the uranium then take the uranium. Seems achievable. Do it already. 

If the goal is to destroy the regime… I don’t see that happening. (Who is still in charge of Afghanistan after 20 years of war?)   

If the goal is to largely cut off the middle east from exporting oil, while also controlling Venezuelan exports, then say so and take the credit (good or bad) for it. At the moment the largest exporters are us and Russia. Russia is sectioned so it is effectively just us. More money for our oil companies. But the cost of energy is higher for Americans too… which means the cost of everything will be higher.
