Submission statement: The EU has (almost) approved the €90 billion loan for Ukraine, as well as the 20th sanctions package. This was doable after the damaged Russian pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia was fixed (and Orban lost the election).
I say ‘almost’, because it has “only” been approved in Coreper, i.e. ambassador-level. The actual approval will happen tomorrow and the informal European Council summit. Usually decisions are not taken there, but an exception has seemingly been made for this. However, once things have passed Coreper, they rarely fail later. The decision tomorrow is essentially for show.
