Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Lee Jae-myung administration’s foreign policy stance on the 22nd, saying, “Saying ‘thank you’ in front and ‘xie xie’ behind the scenes will end up ruining both the economy and national security.”
In a Facebook post that day, Jang wrote, “Throughout my visit to the United States, American officials kept asking, ‘Why is the Korean government discriminating against U.S. companies, its ally, and trying to align with Chinese firms?’”
He also claimed, “Why Trump dislikes Lee Jae-myung more than Kim Jong-un,” adding that “the United States is asking (South Korea), ‘Are you with us or not?’”
In the post, Jang also shared a news article reporting that more than 50 Republican lawmakers had sent a letter to South Korea’s ambassador to the United States, Kang Kyung-wha, stating that “the Korean government is discriminating against American companies while favoring Chinese platform companies.”
The letter reportedly expressed “serious concern over the Korean government’s clearly discriminatory and politically motivated actions against U.S. companies.” It is also reported that the U.S. House Judiciary Committee is currently reviewing the Korean government’s overall regulatory approach toward American tech firms, including the Coupang case involving a personal data breach.

After secret meetings with Trump administration officials in Washington D.C., Jang is now parroting American talking points and purging PPP moderates, threatening to strip their candidacy ( many moderates won in party primary for June local election ) for their “anti-party” behaviors for their opposition to MAGA agenda. He is emboldened and fully loyal to MAGA movement.
