That said this imo article is very counterproductive in explaining why usaid is important. I don’t know how they did it but every individual interviewed here makes more than the DC metro area median income. The lowest income interviewee makes 50% more than the US median income. This article will not play well to anyone who glances over screenshots of this on social media

Did we really need to pay a nonprofit svp 272k a year? I’m glad she’s getting a sob story piece in the nyt at least, now that she is forced to work for $19/hr. It’s absolutely inhumane and unheard of for somebody to work for $19/hr, this is a crime against human decency! She’s being forced to dip into her savings to continue paying her mortgage, how horrific.
