Yes, some people just have a completely irrational bias towards rail.
Trains are great, but it’s fine to admit that busses are a just a more practical option in a lot of cases.
In, there was a recent street car proposal that would have cost at least 2.1 billion (Ramsey County’s own estimate) compared to 121 million for Bus Rapid Transit. And BRT was actually faster! What are we even debating??

I’m convinced it’s mostly about aesthetics for some people. And maybe subconsciously busses are seen as inherently lesser or “for the poors”.
