Past admins have not been able to hold Iran to any deal or agreement on their side.

I just hope Trump knows that particular history, and most important of all, finish the job (as family of those soldiers killed requested) !!!!

From the article:

Peace through strength is working — again.

Just weeks after President Trump stepped in and ordered U.S. forces to protect cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz under “Project Freedom,” reports confirm the United States and Iran are closing in on a one-page memorandum to end the conflict in the Gulf.

Pakistani mediators — who have been directly involved in the talks — say the deal is nearly done. A source close to the negotiations told Reuters: “We will close this very soon. We are getting close.”

  1. I’ll believe it when I see it. This is a disorganized and decentralized occupation regime we’re talking about. They can’t be trusted worth squat right now.

There are likely IRGC factions out there who won’t give a rip what is signed in Pakistan and will continue firing and threatening anyway.

    >The memorandum declares an immediate end to hostilities in the region and kicks off a 30-day period of formal negotiations.

I hate to be pessimistic but it sounds like the beginning rather than the end.

This seems to be a daily headline. And then something happens and we are back at square one.

It doesn’t seem like there’s anyone in charge in Iran. Some Iranian dudes got a luxury trip to Pakistan. They probably don’t even know the guys causing the problems. We’re playing whack-a-mole just like in Syria and Lebanon.

You can never trust the IRGC. We’ll sign something in Pakistan, the next day they will be back to the same old shenanigans.

I’m hoping this gets resolved soon. But, I’ll believe it when I see it. Honestly, tired of hearing “almost have a deal…. I get it, and hopeful. BUT the Left runs with it, saying the admin is lying and such.

  7. I hope that this is actually true this time. We have heard it quite often. At least it does seem like the pieces are moving into places that they need to be.

  8. And Iran already popping off about this being a wishlist, etc. Meanwhile they’re peppering UAE with drones and ballistic missiles. And still attacking US and other nations ships, one of which was hit by a missile yesterday.

We’re showing remarkable restraint here, which is likely being interpreted as a sign of weakness. Either get an ironclad deal framework in place ASAP, or resume targeted strikes + keep the blockade in place to force them into compliance.

  9. I guess technically we are always getting closer to the end than we were yesterday.

Isn’t this an issue between negotiating with the Iranian government and the IRGC? I feel like the IRGC has shown themselves to be a rouge entity operating entirely independent of the Iranian government
