The strategy also focuses on rooting out “violent left-wing extremists” including “radically pro-transgender” groups, as Trump’s conservative administration steps up its political attacks on opponents.
It also further places drug cartels in the Americas at the centre of counter-terrorism efforts.

3. My opinion
Growing hostility to traditional allies like EU, Japan and Korea among Americans emerge from changing self-image. Their self-image changed from the defender of democracy to the last centurion of a dying empire. So, they prioritize strength and power over a just cause. This also explains their fondness to tyrannical powers such as Russia and Kim dynasty as their perceived muscular strength backed up by “purity” appeal to them.
