Consensus forecast was for 0.6% MoM, 3.7% YoY, so actual figures were slightly higher than expected.
**Core CPI** (all items less food and energy) increased 0.4% MoM, 2.8% YoY in April, compared with 0.2% MoM, 2.6% YoY the month prior, in March.
Consensus forecast for **core CPI** was 0.3% MoM, 2.7% YoY, so actual figures for core CPI came in higher than expected.
