Only reason he was in office this long was the fortuitous timing of his last election. He’s been deeply unpopular in LA since his Trump impeachment vote in 2021 but that came after his reelection in 2020. His campaign was even running ads calling him a Trump ally despite Trump himself insulting him and calling him a RINO in messaging
