Earworm Kars4Kids jingle yanked from California airwaves for false advertising — Charity failed to mention it funnels about $45m annually to Jewish non-profit that organizes Israel trips for teens

When I was a kid, way back in the 90’s, I remember hearing this fucking song every day on TV, especially in the Summer when I was home all day.

I honestly didn’t even know they were still fucking around or that they were this massive charity group. Well it turns out that Kars4Kids rly wasn’t doing much for underprivileged children.

That organization runs summer camps in the tri-state area and organizes gap year trips to Israel for 17- and 18-year-olds. Oorah also used $16.5m funneled from Kars4Kids to buy a building in Israel as it expands its presence there.*”

Shit like this is why people are suspicious to donate to charities. Out of all the charity scams I’ve heard of over the years, this one probably takes the cake.

How is this shit allowed and how has it gone on so long without anyone finding out? These Kars4Kids scammers have probably stolen over a billion dollars from Americans over the years, through their fraudulent charitable activities.

Good on California for taking them off the airwaves, but they rly need to be shutdown. This is an egregious violation of the public trust and blatant false advertising. The vast majority of the charitable funds helped out kids from a specific group of people, it didn’t benefit children from all backgrounds.
