Chihuahua, Mexico: CIA officers seen in the field before fatal crash
[Major international and Mexican investigative news outlets, including Milenio and CrashOut Media, obtained and verified the image from local sources.]
The recent death of two CIA officers, operating without proper authority, has caused a huge scandal in Mexico
On the 19th, a vehicle lost control on a mountain road, falling into a ravine killing four occupants; the director of the State Investigations Agency (AEI), a state police officer and two US embassy staff, after a raid on a clandestine meth lab.
News quickly spread that these embassy staff were in fact CIA officers, operating without Mexican government approval. It also surfaced that four CIA officers were present during the raid.
This picture, obtained by Milenio, shows the CIA officers (3/4) on the day of the raid, armed and dressed in local FGE (Attorney General’s Office) uniforms, contrary to the version of events provided by the local government.
1 and 2 are Pedro Román Oseguera Cervantes, AEI director, and driver Genaro Manuel Méndez Montes, who both died. Per Milenio, 6/7 are AEI agents and 5 is so far unidentified.

I find the odds of the Mexican government not knowing about it extremely low. Given Trump’s push to rein in drug smuggling, this seems like an easy way to appease both sides. IS is fighting drug smuggling and Mexico can say they are doing something about it. A win for everyone. At least until they died and Mexico had to admit they were there and lied to save face.
