Submission statement: Starmerism in shorts with a Northern accent
Anyway, his “electoral reform” is SV
While land taxes is good, considering the variety of u-turns, I think he’ll end up u-turning on that if he becomes PM, too
WAGRAMWAGRAM on
I literally predicted this shit last week
Burnham is just gonna be Starmer but with better vibes and all the morons are gonna clap when he’ll do something good when they would have trashed Starmer for doing the same
Keep in mind that a lot of what Starmer is doing is unpopular but necessary (and some things are wholly bad and deserve criticism). It’s not (just) useless pandering to Reform voters devised by the evil McSweeney, it’s what you have to do if you’re pragmatic. I’ll go and say the U-turns on like the farm tax or the WFA hurt him more than the original policy because you take the popularity hit as much but not the money saved
SmashDig on
All the social conservatism of Keir Starmer but with even more slopulism. + he supported the EHRC guidance today. Though that’s unsurprising given public support. Still I have a feeling that social progressivism binds left of centre parties together more then economics because you can just lie about being more populist on economics so it may be more optimal to be socially progressive if you want to scrape by with 30% of the vote and consolidate your left flank? But idk
Save us Angela Rayner (I don’t care about economics at this point I just support Wokeness) I want everyone to be more woke now
