I’m exhausted.
Ads on social media. Ads on YouTube. Ads when you pause the screen on Peacock. Ads during the Knicks game on the court, on the basketball hoop, on the backboard. Ads on the subway and bus. Ads during your music. Ads on fruit stickers.
Now ads on maps. What else? What do we need to do to get us back to where we previously were?
I’m trying to write an opinion piece to hopefully bring together both sides. This isn’t red vs blue, it’s corporate greed vs the working class. They infiltrate our private spaces such as our phones and devices to get our data and sell it to corporations to drive up even more ads.
What do you guys think of constant advertising? Hasn’t it become exhausting? Or does it not bother you?

It’s going to be like the black mirror episode where we are forced to watch ads on our bedroom walls every morning 😬
Capitalism has ruined the world. It bred greed and here we are, at the control of the insatiable.
I barely notice. And I can’t afford anything anyone’s advertising anyway, so it’s not like they’re still “getting me” somehow without me realizing it. Doesn’t mean I don’t care *at all* or that it won’t be annoyingly invasive to me *someday*, but right now it’s not an issue I think much about.
They’re not going to stop as long as it keeps working. People need to stop being so easily advertised to or even actively avoiding advertised products, companies, etc. if they want things to change.
