This is basically Carney losing any climate credibility he has amongst those who genuinely care. Guilbeault is basically the only prominent MP who was still advocating for meaningful climate action in the Liberals

one thing that the internet is weirdly a bit in denial over (be they right wing, left wing or “centrist” YIMBY) is IMO climate, economy and housing as issues are probably not as a big as they make it out to be. Namely on the issue of economy good economy didn’t help harper, and trudeau’s popularity collapse was more due to cost of living, and whatever you may think of housing prices, IIRC the issue polling had cost of living over housing, so the voters wheren’t too concerned about where the cost of living reductions came from. In this sense while it is early days Carney’s approval seems to be more structural than what many commentators suspect
